Tottenham’s manager Mauricio Pochettino was delighted with his side’s victory over Burnley on Saturday, and insists his side are fighting hard for the Premier League title after Chelsea’s loss to Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.
After Chelsea’s 2-1 loss, the White Hart Lane club have successfully closed the gap on Chelsea to seven points.
Tottenham however fought very hard to win Burnley at home following second-half goals from the duo of Eric Dier and Son Heung-min, and Pochettino is so excited that they have been able to reduce the gap to seven.
Even though some might think seven points is still large, the manager feels seven points is completely different to ten. He however added that there is still a lot of work to do, and if Chelsea should fade, they need to work harder and do their job – winning more matches, and get to the top at the end of the season.
Mauricio was definitely delighted with the form his men demonstrated at Turf Moor and felt they clinched a well-deserved win.
He admitted that the game against Burnley was a very difficult game, but they were able to show great character.
Actually, Mauricio’s men dominated the match after an unpleasant first half, and their fans would be very pleased with the performance.
The win is a big win for them, as it means they are still in the race for the premier league title this season.
