According to one of Everton’s leading scouts, Carlo Jacomuzzi, Arsenal, and France International striker Olivier Giroud look set to join Everton this summer transfer window.
Jacomuzzi broke the story after suggesting the club had decided to end their pursuit in Napoli’s Duvan Zapata, saying the asking price is the main reason for the decision.
He said, “There are no developments in the negotiations between us (Everton) and Napoli’s Zapata, also because I think Everton are today set to finalise a contract deal for Giroud for £20 million, which is a better bargain compared to the £25m asking price for Zapata”.
The future of Giroud at Arsenal has only been made more complicated by yesterday’s arrival of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon in a record transfer deal for the club.
But earlier this week, Giroud told Arsenal’s weekly podcast he wants to stay at the Emirate Stadium.
Giroud has previously been linked with a move to Marseille and Lyon, but Premier League clubs are also interested in him, with West Ham monitoring situations.
Giroud, 30, will enter the 2017-18 season off the back of another strong season for the Gunners having netted 12 goals and made three assists in the Premier League.
