Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has warned his side to keep Eden Hazard amid speculations over the future of the attacker at the Stamford Bridge.
The 26-year-old has been a subject of transfer interest from Real Madrid, with reports that the Spanish giants are keen on making Hazard their big-money signing next summer when the transfer ban will be over.
Hazard has returned to his usual electric form for the Blues, after coming off a dismal campaign last season, as Chelsea finished tenth position in the Premier League. The Belgian has been impressive at the Stamford Bridge, scoring 13 goals in 33 appearances under Antonio Conte this season and Courtois believes Chelsea must keep him to fend off interest from Real.
The shot-stopper told Evening Standard: ‘Eden is one of the best players in the world, Chelsea have ambitions to win the Champions League again and always look to play for the title. If you want to do that, you need the biggest players and he is obviously a big part of that.
‘Eden is not affected by it. They are just rumours. He is just calm. He knows that he is important to Chelsea, like I do.
‘We are both very happy to be here. This was my 100th game for Chelsea and I hope for many more.’
