Manchester United splashed huge cash to bring Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford from Juventus at the beginning of last season, and the 25-year-old is still an important member of the club.
However, former club assistant manager Steve McClaren believes the Frenchman has not improved since he made the big money move from Turin.
The former England manager has asked the France international to instead learn something from Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne.
Steve was a partner with Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, and he helped to contribute to the development of a handful of Manchester United players. And speaking about Pogba recently, he insists Paul is not a better footballer now than when he left the old ladies for a switch into the Theater of dreams.
McClaren believes Pogba would have been better off staying at Manchester United to play under Sir Ferguson.
The former United manager also asked Paul to pick up a leaf from De Bruyne’s book. The Belgian left Stamford Bridge to improve in Germany before he returned to the premier league as a much better player.
Steve said Kevin improved himself a lot in the German Bundesliga and has now become a consistent top complete midfielder, unlike Pogba who is inconsistent and not yet mature.
