According to new reports, Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira does not wish to return to Old Trafford in January, but will rather see out his season-long loan deal at Valencia.
Pereira made the move to Valencia on deadline day against the wishes of his manager at the club Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese boss wants him to stay and fight for a place in his squad at Old Trafford, and he was not pleased that the Brazilian midfielder pushed for a move away from his side.
The samba star felt he won’t have regular playing time in Jose Mourinho’s team due to the presence of the likes of Paul Pogba, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini. However, injuries to Carrick, Fellaini and Pogba would have seen him get more time to play if he had stayed.
In his absence, Scott McTominay has grabbed his opportunity properly, but there are still reports that Man United could trigger a recall option in the 21-year-old’s loan deal to bring him back to Old Trafford when January comes.
However, speaking recently about the development, Andreas said he would prefer to stay with the La Liga club for the remainder of the season.
He explained further that it would be very difficult to return to Old Trafford mid-year and continue with the same evolution he is having now.
“My mind is focused on Valencia and I want to stay here.” he said.
