Solskjaer Sends Scout To Watch Liverpool Target

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly sent a top club scout to run the rule over PSV winger Steven Bergwijn.

According to The Sun, Manchester United and Solskjaer are ready to step up their interest in the young Dutch winger and they could even activate the €20m (£17.5m) release clause in his contract before the end of this transfer window.

Steven Bergwijn has been in sensational form for PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Eredivisie this season with a return of nine goals and seven assists in 16 outings for his club.

His goal ratio is only bettered by three people only in the Dutch top flight this term.

Steven Bergwijn has previously been linked with a move to Premier League leaders Liverpool.

The 21-year-old could add a new dimension to the Liverpool attack famed for the trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

The Reds might need one more attacker in their quest to win the Premier League title this season following the departure of Nigerian-born striker Dominic Solanke.

The one-cap England international player joined Bournemouth from Liverpool earlier in this transfer window in a deal said to be worth £19m.

Liverpool still have strikers Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge in their ranks and both players have played their parts in the Reds’ title push.
