Schalke have blocked Chelsea’s advances for defender Sead Kolasinac in the January transfer window.
The left-back has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool understood to be chasing him.
Prior reports have it that the Blues have started talks to bring Kolasinac to the Stamford Bridge after Conte identified him as his main target before the end of the January window.
Reports in the Calciomercato have it that Schalke wants him to stay till the end of the season despite his current deal set to expire in the summer.
Chelsea are thought to be annoyed at the Bundesliga club’s sudden stance even though the Blues agreed terms with Kolasinac. It is believed that Chelsea had a deal in place with Schalke and are angered by the collapse of the deal.
It is understood that Juventus, Liverpool and Arsenal are also planning a move for the full-back and will look to sign him next summer.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will have to make do with his current squad as they challenge for the Premier League title with 15 games to go but might lose Branislav Ivanovic to Zenit before the end of the window.
