Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has explained why he was a different player when he was signed by former club, Chelsea with current Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho as the head coach.
Salah explained that he could not give his best at the club because of Mourinho’s personality which makes life difficult for him.
Salah, who has now become the player top reckon with was perceived as a flop while with the London side and could not give his best, forcing him to leave the club on loan to Italian side, Fiorentina.
The Egyptian is now in line for the world footballer of the year contest as a Liverpool player under Jurgen Klopp.
According to him, he has been the good player he is now but could not be appreciated back then by Mourinho and was left on the bench.
Speaking with France Football, the Egyptian said he wasn’t given enough playing time to prove himself at the Stamford Bridge.
He noted that from January to June 2014, he only played ten matches and that was obviously not enough for him to prove his abilities.
Salah said while he could not challenge the coach’s decision, he was left with no choice than to leave the club because he had always had the passion to play the game.
