Liverpool winger Sadio Mane has sent an apology message to injured Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson for the collision that led to the African’s sending off on Saturday.

The Senegalese was handed the marching orders when scores was at 1-0 after what Centre referee Jon Moss saw the collision as a dangerous incident.

The Reds slipped to their biggest loss of Klopp’s reign as Liverpool boss at the Etihad Stadium, as they were humiliated 5-0 by Pep Guardiola’s men.

City goalkeeper Ederson had to be stretched off and was replaced by Chilean Claudio Bravo, and the winger is hoping the injured keeper makes a quick return to action.

(Sadio) Mane posted on his Facebook page “I (Sadio Mane) hope and wished Ederson a quick (Swift) recovery.”

The Goalie was examined by Manchester City’s medical staff and was able to come out from the dugout to have his sit on the substitutes’ bench in the second half of the clash.

Sadio Mane is now likely to return to action in the English Premier League on the 1st of October when Jurgen Klopp’s men travel to Newcastle.

The Senegal international forward will now miss two League matches against Leicester City and the away at Burnley, but he is free to play in the UEFA Champions League match against La Liga side Sevilla and Spartak Moscow.
