Current World Best footballer and former Manchester United star player Cristiano Ronaldo has explained that he left the Old Trafford club to seek bigger challenges after achieving all he could with the red devils.
Ronaldo helped Man United win three Premier League titles and the Champions League between the 2006/07 and 2008/09 seasons.
He also won the Ballon d’Or before making a move to Real Madrid for a whopping £80million.
The Portuguese star player has gone on to establish himself as one of the best footballers in history and has helped his current side win three more Champions League silverware, earning him more Ballon d’Or awards in the process.
There have been lots of speculations that his former side are trying to bring him back to Old Trafford, but nothing of that sort has seen the light of the day.
And currently writing in The Players’ Tribune, Ronaldo made it known that his success at England was no longer enough as he had his vision set on becoming a legend at Real Madrid.
The Portuguese player admits it was a very proud moment for him and his family when he became a player at Manchester United, and that winning trophies with the Old Trafford club was very emotional – particularly when he won the Champions League and his first Ballon d’Or at the club.
However, according to him, ‘my dreams kept getting bigger [and] that is the point of dreams’
He confessed his admiration for Real Madrid and his desire to win more trophies in Spain and to become a legend at the Madrid club.
And well, dream comes true!
