Serie A giants prepare second offer to steal star player from Arsenal’s grip

Riyad Mahrez

Arsenal could be set to miss out on the signing of Leicester City and Algeria star Riyad Mahrez with Serie A club AS Roma preparing another offer for the African.

The North London club have been heavily linked with a transfer for the flying winger all summer, although it seems he could be heading to the Italian Serie A with AS Roma now the front-runner to capture him.

According to the Leicester Mercury, the Italian Serie A giants are thought to be preparing a second offer of between €35-40million plus add-ons.

The Serie A side have already had a £20million offer turned down, and the African is thought to have agreed personal terms to join the Italian capital side.

However, despite interest from Roma, Mahrez, 26, is said to be waiting to see if or not the Gunners make their transfer before completing a deal to the Stadio Olimpico.

Given the Serie A side’s keenness to push a move through, the bookmakers believe that he will be heading to Italy.

The North London club have now moved out to 6/4 odds to complete a move for the Leicester City player, while he is priced at 7/2 odd by Skybet to remain at the King Power Stadium.
