Roberto Di Matteo is of the opinion that one important thing that has helped Chelsea succeed this season is Antonio Conte’s man-management style at the club.

Despite finishing tenth on the league table last season under Jose Mourinho, the Stamford Bridge club under Antonio Conte currently sit eight points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table and have the opportunity to stretch their lead further if they did beat Swansea today.

Even though the former Juventus manager took some time to find his feet in the west London club at the start of the season, but having switched to a dynamic 3-4-3 formation, Chelsea have set the league alight with their consistently strong team displays.

One thing the Italian coach is well-known for is his passion on the touchlines, and he has helped bring out the best in many of his players throughout the season.

And Roberto Di Matteo, the man who guided Chelsea to Champions League glory in 2012, stated that Antonio Conte’s ability to motivate his players has led to a successful campaign to date.

“Chelsea are a very good team,”

“After the first part of the season when Antonio needed some time to study his squad well, he has made changes and the team now plays in [his] style.

“[His] players have adapted [very] well and, since then, Conte has started to grind the opponents and to take many points.

“They are [very] hard to beat. They give their opponents very few chances and they play with a lot of quality.

“But the key is knowing how to motivate players and how to build up a group that becomes a team.

“The quality of the players is unquestionable. The main part of the job, in order to achieve very high targets, is to motivate them well.” Di Matteo told The Sun.
