Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed how his side can be able to catch English Premier League (EPL) league leaders Chelsea as he stated that his team will need to maintain their resilience so as to have a chance of usurping the Stamford Bridge outfit.
The 67-year old Frenchman, who has managed clubs such as AS Monaco and Grampus Eight, was speaking during his post-match press conference after the 1-0 win over Midlands club West Brom.
In his words, he said: “I feel yes because it’s normal that I tell you yes, but we have to show that for the whole season to maintain that kind of resilience.”
“At the moment there is quite a big distance between us and Chelsea and we need a special resilience to come back, but I hope that the other teams will have as well their moments of weakness and we can only take advantage of it if we continue like that.” he further added.
The slim win over Tony Pulis’ side made sure that Arsenal stay within 9 points of Chelsea, who thrashed Bournemouth 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, though they still occupy the 4th spot with 37 points behind Liverpool (37 points), Manchester City (39 points) and Chelsea (46 points).
