According to reports Manchester United are having discussions with Brazilian club Corinthians to sign their defender Guilherme Arana.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb an Italian news outlet, United are close to making a deal for the 19-year-old left-back and his agent is already in Manchester to sort out details of his contract.
Corinthians are having some financial trouble and could be willing to ensure that a deal is concluded as soon as possible to ease their financial concerns.
Arana has not only been attracting interest from Manchester United as he was linked with a move to London to join Tottenham. It is believed that the discussions earlier on between both parties did not go so well giving room for United to step in.
A deal for Arana could be bad news for defender Luke Shaw as he may be on his way out of Old Trafford. The former Southampton defender has been criticized on some occasions this season by Jose Mourinho and this has cast doubts about his future at the club.
In September he was criticized for his performance against Watford a match United lost and in their last match against Swansea which United won 3-1, Mourinho was not pleased with the England international after he decided to opt out of the match due to injury concerns.
Arana has featured 16 times for Corinthians in the league and scored a goal. The talented left-back has already played twice for the under 20 team of Brazil.
