Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski has dismissed transfer rumours linking him with a move to Premier League side Liverpool.
The 24-year-old shut down the Liverpool transfer rumours in his recent interview monitored by Italian transfer news portal Tutto Mercato Web as he said that they are working on a contract extension at Napoli.
Piotr Zelinski has established himself as a key midfield player for Napoli for the better part of the last two seasons.
He has been a long-term target for the Reds dating back to his time with Empoli.
The Polish international star spent two successful seasons at Empoli while he was on loan from fellow Italian Serie A side Udinese.
While he was at Empoli in 2016, Piotr Zelinski was pictured with a Liverpool shirt that had his name at the back and that prompted transfer talks.
Zielinski joined Napoli from Udinese later that year but it has not stopped him from being linked with the Reds constantly.
Napoli would be hoping to tie him down to a long-term contract to prevent Liverpool from strengthening their midfield with the player.
Liverpool strengthened their midfield at the start of the season with the addition of Naby Keita in a £53m deal from German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig and Fabinho from French club AS Monaco.
