According to reports coming from Italy, premier league heavyweights Manchester United are showing serious interest in Genoa’s youngster Pietro Pellegri and are likely to take some steps to bring the 17-year-old down to England anytime soon.
The talented teenager has been impressive at the Serie A side, bursting onto the scene last term when he scored in his second game for the club.
And when Genoa clashed with Lazio last Sunday, he was introduced in the game as a first-half substitute. The wonderkid got everyone surprised by scoring a brace in the game. Even his father Marco, who was the club’s assistant coach, could not hold back tears from his eyes after his son scored his double at the game.
Now, Italian news outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport made it known that his impressive performances has brought about different phone calls, and top European clubs including Manchester United, AC Milan and Juventus are asking questions about him.
It was also made known that the teenager’s agent is in England this week, which is sparking speculation that Man United could be negotiating a possible deal for the highly-rated striker.
Premier League champions Chelsea are also said to be watching the promising Italy U-17 international with Serie A champions Juve favourites in the race to land the Italian.
