Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho returned to the club’s training ground at Melwood Park today for training for the very first time since handing in a transfer request to leave Anfield.
Philippe Coutinho was among ten players that returned from international duty ahead of Saturday’s visit to Manchester City.
The Barcelona target is in the running having not played for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season due to a back injury which coincided with the Brazilian submitting a transfer request amid interest from La Liga club FC Barcelona.
The Reds turned down three offers from FC Barcelona, who were keen on signing the 25-year-old having lost Brazilian Neymar Jr to big spending Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite being sidelined for the Reds, the Brazilian was notwithstanding fit to travel to South America for Brazil’s FIFA World Cup qualifiers, coming off the substitute bench in both games and scoring in the 2-0 victory over Ecuador last week Thursday.
The Liverpool star was welcomed at Melwood Park by Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, who also greeted back Brazilain Roberto Firmino, Egyptian Mohamed Salah, Danny Ward, Dejan Lovren, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Woodburn, English Dominic Solanke and Emre Can after the international break.
Senegalese Sadio Mane returned late yesterday to resume training ahead of the Manchester City game.
