Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has disclosed that the target for the North London side this season is to go on better by landing the English Premier League (EPL) title thereby ending a 13-year wait for the title to follow-up from second position behind surprise winners Leicester City last season.
The 34-year old star was speaking in an interview with his club’s official website recently. He said: “I think it’s been the unity of the team throughout the year.”
“We’ve got a great bunch of players and unity in the team.
“This was something which stands out for me.
“We’ve been in difficult moments but the spirit is so good that we’ve been able to react.”
Speaking further on the team’s target ahead of the remainder of the league season, the Czech Republic legend, who retired recently after the 2016 European Championship in France, said: “We want to have more points than anyone else. That’s always our target.
Cech would hope Arsenal can close the present nine-point gap between them and league leaders Chelsea when they face Crystal Palace in a London Derby clash at the Emirates Stadium on New Year’s.
“We finished second last year so we would like to get better.” he concluded.
