Chelsea Star Explains His Improved Form At The Club This Season

Chelsea in-form superstar Pedro Rodriguez says that his change of position under new Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has been key to his improved form this current term.

Pedro is of the opinion that his change of position under Antonio Conte has been one of the key factors behind his improved form this season.

Pedro has been in a much improved form this season after struggling to produce consistent displays for Chelsea last term.

This season so far in 22 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, the Spanish attacker has scored six goals and has made five assists.

His fine form has helped the blues to build an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table and they have firmly establish themselves as the favourites to win the crown this season.

Pedro speaking to Chelsea’s website said: “I always think about how I can score a goal and help my team, so when I have a chance I try to score, I try to help my team – this is my job.

“I’m playing a lot more on the inside now than I was last season.

“I am getting on the ball and receiving passes more centrally, and getting in more goalscoring positions as well – obviously my team-mates are helping me to do this.”

Last season, the Stamford Bridge club finished 10th and without a trophy and they are currently gearing up for their FA Cup fifth-round clash against Wolves this weekend.

They head into the game on the back of their 1-1 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor in the Premier League last Sunday.

Nevin Talks About Why David Luiz Deserves Extra Chelsea Praise

According to former Chelsea man Pat Nevin, Chelsea star defender David Luiz actually deserves praise for playing through the pain barrier with his side in recent games.

The Samba star has earned lots of praise for his performances for the Stamford Bridge club since his arrival back at the West London club from Paris Saint-Germain in the last summer transfer window.

In recent months, he has been a regular fixture in the starting line-up for Chelsea and has been one of their most consistent performers.

This season so far, he  has started 21 of Chelsea’s Premier League games to help Conte’s men build an eight-point lead at the top of the table.

The 29-year-old once again played through the pain barrier with a heavily strapped knee during his side’s 1-1 draw with Burnley on Sunday afternoon.

And Nevin is of the opinion that the Brazilian actually deserves a special praise for keeping going against the Clarets.

Nevin writing in his column for Chelsea’s website said David Luiz showed a willingness to grind it out in his conditions even though he was carrying a fairly debilitating injury.

“It is also particularly hard to be creative when most of the elements are conspiring against you but the players rolled their sleeves up (metaphorically at least) and just got on with it.

“This was always going to be a tough fixture as Burnley’s home form underlined, but it had to be faced.” he concluded.
