Manchester United talisman Paul Pogba thinks he initially struggled at the Old Trafford due to his involvement with France at Euro 2016.
At the beginning of the campaign, the record-signing failed to make his mark in the Premier League and questions was often asked if he really deserves the huge fee.
The Frenchman has however been reborn in recent months and has played a key role in the red devils recent surge towards the top four.
Despite the blunder he committed in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool yesterday, the France international is beginning to finally live up to his world record transfer fee.
The 23-year old nevertheless believes that his lack of a pre-season hindered his form at the start of the season and not because he wasn’t hard working.
“No, I’ve always worked in training,” the midfielder told SFR Sport.
He insisted that things are getting better with the team as they have built understanding with each other.
“We win once, we win twice, we change one, two players, matches keep coming, but we’re in better form.” he added.
He insisted that he’s in a lot better shape too because he didn’t have a preseason like everyone else when he arrived later, as there was not a moment where everything just clicked but it just came with time.
Pogba also heap praises on his team-mates for helping him hit top form, admitting they are complementary.
“There’s Carrick behind us to dictate play. I am a bit more attacking, a bit higher up the pitch, so I’m closer to Zlatan too. Herrera is there, dictates play, presses. I think the three of us complement each other.”
