Many people won’t easily forget last night’s FA Cup game between Chelsea and Manchester United due to the many dramas that occurred in the game. One of the things which caught our attention while the game was on is the bust-up between the managers of both teams, I.e Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.

And former Chelsea man Pat Nevin is of the opinion that Jose Mourinho’s thinly-veiled attacks on his former club Chelsea so far this season were the cause of the bust-up.

Both Mourinho and Conte had to be kept apart by the fourth official after both of them disagreed about Antonio Valencia’s tackle on Marcos Alonso.

Another ‘exciting’ incidence that happened while the game was still one was when the Portuguese boss received some abuse from some Chelsea supporters in the crowd, and the former Real Madrid coach responded by showing three fingers at them – which signified the number of league titles he won while still at the Stamford Bridge club.

And at full-time, the Portuguese boss and the Italian boss did not shake hands when passing each other on the pitch.

However, former Chelsea player Pat Nevin thinks Mourinho’s defence of his new club was always going to rile up Chelsea’s supporters.

Pat told  Chelsea’s website that there were always going to be comments about the relationship between Mourinho and Conte and Mourinho with the Chelsea fans.

He agreed that Chelsea fans loved Mourinho for what he did at Chelsea, but just like any intense relationship after a break up, it can get rather fractious. He noted that the Stamford Bridge club now have Antonio Conte while Mourinho now has Manchester United.

Nevin added that as things stands now, if Mourinho should say anything negative, be it coded, about Antonio Conte,  Chelsea fans are not going to accept it.
