One-time European champions Chelsea are said to be plotting a summer swoop for in-form Sevilla midfielder Pablo Sarabia according to reports coming out of the media in Spain.
According to the publication from Spanish media portal Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea want to boost their midfield options with the signing of the Spaniard.
Pablo Sarabia has a release clause of €18m in his present contract with Spanish La Liga giants Sevilla.
The release clause in his Sevilla contract rises to €22m for the last two weeks of the transfer window.
The Sevilla star has 18 months left on his current deal with the club meaning that the Spaniards could sanction his sale in the summer.
Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang reportedly made a €39m bid for Pablo Sarabia in the bid to sign the player last month only for them to be repelled by the former Europa League champions.
The aforementioned publication revealed that Chelsea also wanted to sign him before the end of the January transfer window but the West Londoners were unable to agree on a deal for him.
Chelsea offered an annual salary of around €4m to the player who wanted €5m.
Pablo Sarabia has been in sensational form for Sevilla this season after scoring 17 goals and providing nine assists in all competitions.
