So far in this month’s ongoing transfer session, Manchester United have been quiet at the market front. Even though different players have been linked with the club right from last year, the red devils are yet to make an official signing into Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, with the first piece of official business of the month finally confirmed by the management, it seems things are about to change and the Old Trafford faithfuls can be pleased that business is finally underway at the Old Trafford.
United stated on their official Twitter account that goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has officially joined Aston Villa until the end of the season.
Aston Villa who are struggling this season and have been seeking a goalkeeper to stop goals from coming in, seem to regard young Johnstone as the right man that will fill the void perfectly.
Being the third choice in the goalkeeping department at Manchester United, it is obvious he can’t get a good playing time on the pitch. So, a temporary move to Villa is an effort to get him a bit of game time this season.
The 23-year old keeper is a talented one, and a player for the future. Considering his shot stopping abilities and aerial displays, some United fans are already backing him to get more of a chance next season at Old Trafford – especially if he should performs well on his loan spell at Aston Villa.
