Transfer podcasts are reporting that Chelsea and Bournemouth could be involved in a swap deal before the end of January.
According to the Daily Star, the Cherries have shown interest in Chelsea’s outcast Danny Drinkwater as Eddie Howe continues to upgrade his team at the middle of the pitch.
The same report also claimed that Maurizio Sarri is looking at the prospect of getting Bournemouth’s star Nathan Ake, so, a swap deal is being mooted by the media outlet.
Howe has however debunked the rumour in his pre-match conference on Tuesday.
While speaking to reporters ahead of his game against Chelsea on Tuesday, the 45-year-old manager said his employers are not in search of any players this month.
He’s said they’ve concluded their involvement in the winter transfer market, so, there is no truth in any speculation linking him with a move for former the Leicester City midfielder.
“From my perspective, we hope the majority of our business is done….. We hope our business is finished,” he told reporters on Tuesday.
On his part, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri didn’t comment on speculations linking him with a move for the former Chelsea star, instead, he speaks on Callum Hudson-Odoi’s future.
According to him, the youngster will remain under his watch throughout this season despite huge interest from Bayern Munich.
“The club have told me that in this transfer window, he will remain with us for sure – and very probably in the next, too. I am really very happy with this,” Sarri revealed ahead of Bournemouth’s challenge.
The Bundesliga giants reportedly tabled a mouthwatering £40m bid for the 18-year-old star but it was rejected by the Blues who are unwilling to do business with the German side.
