A Belgian goalkeeper – Thibaut Courtois, made the Czech international sit on the bench, and push him away from Stamford Bridge.
Courtois has been Chelsea’s number one goalkeeper, and has been impressive at the club. And as expected, various big teams had been monitoring him.
In recent times, he has persistently attracted rumours of a potential transfer away from Chelsea. The Belgian goalie is not making comments about his future at the club, thus arousing curiosities.
Nevertheless, new reports states that the Stamford Bridge club plan to offer him a significant increase in wages in other to end all talk of a possible exit.
Recently, Courtois has been linked with La Liga giants Real Madrid. The Spanish club are said to seek a new goalkeeper this summer and the Chelsea man is on their radar.
But the Daily Mail reported that the premier league leaders are ready to give him a new deal just to make sure he stays with them and keep his attention at the Stamford Bridge club.
The new deal will see Courtois going home with a superb £120,000 each week.
His current contract at Chelsea is set to expire in 2019, and Chelsea won’t want to hesitate in tying him them at Stamford Bridge.
