Chelsea star player N’Golo Kante has backed his side’s new signing Tiemoue Bakayoko to be a perfect replacement for departed Nemanja Matic.
Following his move to Stamford Bridge from Benfica, Matic flourished at West London for three years and was able to win two Premier League titles during his sweet spell at the club.
And despite that he has become one of the most important members of the club, Chelsea surprisingly allowed the Serbian midfielder to join rivals Manchester United during the summer transfer window.
And following Nemanja’s exit, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has bolstered his midfield options by landing Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco and Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City.
And speaking recently about the Serb following their emphatic 6-0 win over Qarabag in the Champions League on Tuesday night, N’Golo admits his former midfield partner Matic contributed immensely to his development as a player. The Frenchman, however, added that his new partner Bakayoko is more than capable of flourishing at the club.
“Bakayoko has come and I think he is a good player, and that we can do very well with him.” Kante told Goal.
The premier league champions lost the Community Shield to Arsenal at the start of the season and lost their first premier league game of the new campaign to Burnley at home.
But they appear to have found back their form and have moved up to third in the premier league table with three consecutive wins.
