Newcastle are plotting a £15million move for Arsenal defender, Kieran Gibbs this summer, according to reports.
The 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Emirates due to his reduced role with the Gunners, although he played a major role in their resurgence when Arsene Wenger switched to a 3-4-3 formation toward the end of the season.
However, it is understood that Gibbs wants to leave the Emirates in search of better opportunities next season, with reports that the Gunners want £15million for the defender.
Reports in The Mirror claim that Newcastle are ready to pay Arsenal’s valuation for the services of Gibbs and Rafa Benitez remains keen on adding quality signings to his squad.
Kieran Gibbs was a subject of transfer interest from Crystal Palace during the January transfer window but the Gunners were not keen on selling one of their players but might be ready to cash in on the defender, with reports that the Gunners have sealed a free transfer for Bosnian left-back Sead Kolasinac.
Although, there are reports that first choice left-back, Nacho Monreal is eyeing a move away from the Emirates and wants to return to the La Liga with Atletic Bilbao being his choice destination.
What remains to be seen is whether Arsene Wenger will cash in on one of his stars, as he hopes to re-invent himself at the Emirates.
