Done Deal! Liverpool Defender Leave Anfield On Loan

Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne has joined fellow Premier League side Bournemouth on loan until the end of the season.

His loan transfer was confirmed by the Cherries shortly after Reds teammate Dominic Solanke left the Merseyside giants for Bournemouth.

Solanke, 20, has put pen to paper on a long-term contract after Liverpool and Bournemouth agreed on a £19m deal.

Nathaniel Clyne will boost Cherries manager Eddie Howe’s options at right-back following the long-term injuries suffered by the defensive duo of Adam Smith and Simon Francis.

Adam Smith is expected back in action before the end of this season, while Bournemouth captain Simon Francis won’t be back in the team until next season after he sustained a serious knee injury last month.

Simon Francis injured his knee ligaments during the 4-1 thrashing at the hands of a rejuvenated Manchester United side.
Nathaniel Clyne came through the ranks at Crystal Palace before making his debut under then manager Neil Warnock in 2008.
The 27-year-old went on to join Southampton before moving to Liverpool in the summer of 2015.

He was the first choice right-back at Liverpool for his first two seasons until a big injury struck in the early part of his third season.

The long-term injury played a big part in him losing his place to young fullback Trent Alexander-Arnold.
