Liverpool are close to completing the transfer of Lyon forward Nabil Fekir in this January transfer window.
This is according to the tweet from the official Twitter handle of Qatari media outlet Alkass Channel.
The Reds have been long-term admirers of French international star Nabil Fekir dating back to last summer when he almost signed for the Merseyside giants.
Liverpool and Lyon agreed on a £53m fee for Nabil Fekir during last summer’s transfer window before the Premier League side pulled out of a deal for the Frenchman at the last minute.
The Reds called off the transfer over concerns about his knee.
He recovered well from that setback to be a part of the France squad that won the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia last summer.
Fekir and France defeated surprise finalists Croatia 4-2 in their final clash in July 2018.
Apart from Liverpool, other European heavyweights such as Chelsea, Champions League holders Real Madrid, Bavarian giants Bayern Munich and Manchester United have all been touted as potential transfer destinations for the 25-year-old.
Transfer rumours surrounding Nabil Fekir have intensified in the last two days after Lyon dropped him for the French Cup game with fifth-tier side Bourges.
