Why Mourinho will be on the touchline at Stamford Bridge despite FA charge

There are suggestions that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will be allowed to be on the touchline at the Stamford Bridge at the weekend when his side travel to play Chelsea in the Premier League.

Mourinho was charged yesterday by the FA for allegedly making use of ‘abusive, insulting or improper language’ and gesture after his side’s comeback win at the Old Trafford against Newcastle United.

It was, therefore, speculated that the Portuguese manager will be handed a touchline ban that will stop him from having a major influence on his side’s play in the Chelsea encounter.

However, it has been revealed that Mourinho was given until 6 pm on Friday to respond to the charges levelled against him which will make it difficult for the FA to make a decision on the matter as they may not have the time to sit on the Portuguese defence of the charges before the kickoff of the game.

This makes it impossible for a ban to be placed on the former Chelsea boss as a declaration cannot be made until the truth is established.

This will serve as a relief to the United football family who hope to have the manager available for the very important game against the Blues.
