Chelsea new Italian manager Antonio Conte is said to be impressed with Ryan Bertrand’s current form at Southampton and wants Ryan to come back to Chelsea this summer.
The England international left the Stamford Bridge club in 2015 when current Man United boss Jose Mourinho was still boss at the club. He moved to Southampton in a deal worth £10million and has been a regular with the Saints. But he could return back to his former club soon.
Bertrand won the Champions League trophy with Chelsea back in 2012 and since leaving, has continued flourishing.
Since Chelsea’s boss Antonio Conte intends sticking with his 3-4-3 formation next term, the Italian boss reportedly wants competition for Marcos Alonso at the left full-back role.
Now, according to reports coming from English media, the former Juventus manager has asked the club billionaire owner Roman Abramovich to sign the full-back to Chelsea.
Bertrand has improved a lot, and is much better than he was before. He is now a regular in the national team, and so, might cost above £20million.
The Chelsea manager will be handed significant funds to bring in more quality players this summer and it was reported that Conte wants to sign up to four players to contend with the added Champions League fixtures next season.
The Possibilities Of Signing Bertrand?
The West London club have successfully re-signed some of their former players including Nemanja Matic and David Luiz back to the Stamford Bridge in recent seasons, so, it’s not something new.
