Mourinho Set To Sign Italian Striker With £84M, Is It Justifiable?

As this season approaches it end, Manchester United Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho has no other choice but to sign at least one quality attacker in the summer transfer window.

Swede star Zlatan Ibrahimovic is now out injured, and apart from the fact that a long-term successor is required, his injury  needs to be considered, with new reports, there are claims that the Old Trafford club are closing in on a deal to get the signature of Italy star player Andrea Belotti.

He plays for Torino and is presently the joint leading goalscorer in the Italian league, having scored 25 times alongside AS Roma’s Edin Dzeko.

In 33 games for his Serie A side this season, the Italian international has scored 27 goals and has provided 6 assists.

It was added in the report that he has been on the wish list of Jose, and the English club may have to activate his £84 million release clause to get him.

As this season approaches it end, his current club Torino are occupying the ninth position in the Serie A table. So, it appears they won’t be playing in either the Champions League or the Europa League next season.

Manchester United are closing in on fourth placed Manchester City on the premier league table, and are even getting closer to winning the Europa League – which would make them opportune to get a Champions League ticket.

This might persuade Belotti to make the switch.
