Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is believed to be set for a clear-out, with up to nine players reportedly on their way out of Old Trafford.
Several national newspapers have suggested Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger will be the highest profile victim, a little more than a year after he joined the Premier League club from Bayern Munich.
The 31-year-old moved from Bayern to United last summer for a fee of arounnd £6.5million, signing a three-year deal, but he made only 13 Premier League starts.
His last appearance for United came in the derby win at Manchester City in March. Schweinsteiger then suffered a partial medial collateral ligament tear during training with Germany ahead of the friendly with England, but he recovered sufficiently to play at Euro 2016 and made five appearances for Germany.

Defenders Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Tim Fosu-Mensah, Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair are also believed to have no future at Old Trafford.
Midfielders Adnan Januzaj and Andreas Pereira and forwards James Wilson and Will Keane make up the reported nine.
Since his arrival, Mourinho has brought in defender Eric Bailly, midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while the club are hoping to seal a move for Juventus’ France midfielder Paul Pogba over the weekend and the France international is the man Mourinho wants to hold his team together.
