Jose Mourinho says he felt humiliated after Man United’s 4-0 defeat at the hands of former club Chelsea as Antonio Conte celebrated on the touchline before the final whistle.
The Italian and former Juventus coach urged the home fans to make more noise and celebrate before the game ended.
An early goal from Pedro after 30 seconds and also goals from Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante saw Mourinho suffer his worst defeat in English football.
Conte was judged by Mourinho to have celebrated Kante’s goal, Chelsea’s fourth goal in a humiliating fashion.
Mourinho had a word with the Italian with Sky Italia reporting that he had told the Chelsea boss in Italian:
“You don’t wind up the crowd at 4-0. You do it at 1-0. It’s humiliating.”
But he told reporters:
“You know me. I speak to Conte, I don’t speak to you.
“You know that I am not the kind of guy to come here and share with you things that I don’t want to share. It was me and Antonio. It stays with me and him unless he wants to share with you.”
Asked about his take on the fans reaction to him and his words with Conte, he said:
“It was fine, I was not expecting anything different here. The crowd behaved in a normal way. My words were with Antonio Conte and not for you.”
