Morata wants Real Madrid return; drops major transfer hint after poor season

Alvaro Morata

Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata has disclosed he could play for Spanish La Liga champions Real Madrid again despite just swapping the Santiago Bernabeu for Stamford Bridge last summer transfer window.

Morata’s struggle in Spain
The Spain international striker never quite managed to cement himself as a regular starter for Real Madrid, but would understandably attached to his first side, where he also enjoyed a lot of success.

Alvaro Morata admits that he’s delighted at the West London club and respects his present employers, but claimed he would find it difficult to reject the opportunity to play for Real Madrid again.

Real Madrid regret

The Los Blancos’s may well be regretting offloading Morata last summer transfer window as they’ve since struggled real bad in attack, with aging players such as Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo and France star Karim Benzema no longer looking as ‘deadly’ as they once were.

The 25-year-old could have been a good long-term replacement for France striker Karim Benzema in that center-forward position, but left the club to pursue more regular first-team football in the English Premier League.

Notwithstanding a decent start to life in England, the ex-Juventus striker has had his issues with both form and fitness and it could well be that a third stint in the Spanish capital City makes sense for all involved parties.
