According to the Daily Star, Arsenal and Germany international midfielder Mesut Ozil is keen on a transfer move to FC Barcelona.
The former Real Madrid star is out of contract next summer but has been heavily linked with a transfer away from the Emirates Stadium this summer transfer window.
The Gunners are hoping to tie their attacker down in another long contract but Spanish publication Don Balon are reporting that the player’s representatives has offered the former Bayern Munich man to rivals FC Barcelona, as they look to strengthen their attacking line, following the exit of Brazil international Neymar Jr to French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain for a world transfer record breaking £198m.
The news outlet says that the North London club player does not see his future at the Emirate Stadium, and wants to make a switch away, with the Spanish La Liga as an ideal destination league.
Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho is also strongly linked to the La Liga side, but it is believed that FC Barcelona are set to claim both footballers.
Ozil played 90 minutes as the Gunners came back to win 4-3 against former Premier League Champions Leicester City last night.
But his future is still uncertain and now reports in Spain says he wants to quit the City of London.
