Former Manchester United player Memphis Depay has emerged as a shock target for West London outfit Chelsea in the coming summer transfer window, according to reports.
It is understood that Memphis Depay is no longer happy at the French Ligue 1 outfit Lyon and will seek t leave the club at the end of the season.
However, reports claim that the Blues alongside EPL defending champions Man City are part of the six clubs that Memphis Depay will like to join should he quit France.
Memphis Depay has had his first spell in the English League within 2015 to 2017 when he signed for Manchester United for a fee of about £25 million before leaving as a result of his inability to establish himself in the team.
However, he returned to Lyon and has impressed to become a better player. He is now fancy to move to a bigger stage where he can prove more of his worth.
He made it clear that Lyon is a big club but noted that they are not one of the top five European clubs, stressing that only Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man City, Paris Saint Germain or Bayern Munich make the cut of the top teams he would consider.
