Former Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has been told that he must improve his game to earn a recall to the Italian national team.
At a press conference on Monday, Italian national team manager Roberto Mancini urged Balotelli to work harder in order to earn an invitation back to the Italy squad.
Roberto Mancini left Mario Balotelli out of his Italy squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers despite his return to form with his club.
Mario Balotelli plays his club football for French Ligue 1 giants Marseille at the moment having joined the Champions League chasers during the winter transfer window.
The ex-Liverpool player joined Marseille from fellow French club Nice after he fell out with Patrick Vieira.
He didn’t score for Nice in 10 games at the start of the season and also fell out with Nice manager Vieira.
Balotelli has been able to resurrect his career at Marseille following his issues at Nice though it must be pointed out that his contract ends this summer.
He has scored five goals in eight games for his new team but Mancini wants more from him.
Roberto Mancini had earlier given him a recall to the Italian national team in May 2018 after a four-year hiatus from the Italy squad.
