Marcos Alonso desire to see Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois commit his future to the England club and not leave the club.
He has pleaded with Courtois to ignore the speculation linking him with a possible transfer to Spanish club Real Madrid but he should instead commit his future to Chelsea.
Since his arrival at Chelsea, the Belgian goalie has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s top shot-stoppers and he has helped the Stamford Bridge club to establish themselves as the firm favourites to win the title this term.I
In recent weeks, Courtois has been touted as a possible transfer target for Real Madrid along with Manchester United’s David De Gea.
However, Chelsea summer signing and full-back Alonso, is hoping that Courtois ignores the reported interest from Real Madrid and instead commits his future to the West London club.
He told Onda Cero show Radio Estadio that he really hope Courtois doesn’t move to Real Madrid because the Belgian is a great goalkeeper helping the team in every game.
Conte’s men are currently 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League table following their 1-1 draw with Burnley on Sunday afternoon and are regarded currently as the heavy favourites to win the top-flight title this season after their impressive start to the season under their new boss Antonio Conte.
Sending Warning To Chelsea Title Rivals
Alonso believes his side have a significant advantage in the Premier League title race this season because of their lack of European football this current season.
The Stamford Bridge club now have the luxury of not having to worry about European football this season after they ended up 10th in the table last season when current United boss Jose Mourinho was still in charge at the club.
Over the coming weeks, Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester United all have European competition to contend with.
And Alonso believes that this gives his side a significant advantage in the race for the top-flight crown, stressing that the team is playing very well.
“We have adapted very well to the idea of the coach and we hope to continue this way until the end of the season.
“We are training a lot and very well.“The team has understood perfectly what the coach wants and we are proving that every weekend.
“It is clear that not playing Europe is an advantage over other teams but we are training very well, and I think that’s the most important thing.
“That’s what is allowing us to stay free of injuries and play with almost the same eleven every weekend.” he said.
