Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has played down the wonder goal he scored against Watford in their Premier League clash at Anfield on Wednesday night.

The Senegalese international had opened the scoring in the ninth minute off a fantastic cross from the impressive Trent Alexander-Arnold to set Liverpool on their way to a thumping 5-0 win over the Hornets.

Mane then improvised for the Reds’ second goal in the 20th minute by back-heeling the ball over Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster and into the back of the net off another pass from young England international Alexander-Arnold.

When he was asked about the goal, Sadio Mane played down his brilliance as he told the club’s official website that credit must go to the players involved in the buildup especially Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Liverpool led 2-0 at the halftime interval courtesy the first half brace from Sadio Mane before Divock Origi added a third goal for the hosts in the 66th minute thereby paving the way for Virgil Van Dijk to score two late goals to make it a resounding victory for Liverpool and manager Jurgen Klopp.

Sadio Mane set a new personal record with those goals which took him to 14 league goals as Liverpool continue to set the pace in the top flight of English football.
