Manchester United will confirm a spot in the knockout stages of the Champions League if they can get at least a draw against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night.
The Old Trafford club missed the opportunity to secure a place in the knockout stages last time out when they lost 1-0 to FC Basel in Switzerland – although they still currently top their Champions League group.
If they can, however, earn a point when they host CSKA Moscow at Old Trafford on Tuesday, they will top their group to qualify for the last 16, while a loss to the Russian club could still hinder them from progressing (though it is extremely impossible United will concede up to nine goals at Old Trafford)
Moreover, Manchester United thrashed the Russian club 4-1 in the first leg of their meeting over there at Moscow, and will be going into the Tuesday game with full confidence following their 3-1 thrashing of Arsenal in the premier league on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.
The duo of Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are still out injured, as well as Marouane Fellaini and Micheal Carrick.
The Russian side, on the other hand, will be missing the trio of Georgi Milanov, Aleksey Berezutski and Georgi Schennikov for the last group stage game.
