Manchester United are shifting their attentions to thrashing out the futures of current squad players as the summer transfer deadline beckons.
The Red Devils have spent over 150 million pounds over new arrivals this summer as well as re-signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic for another year. Following Jose Mourinho’s latest revelation over his transfer business in the last days of the window, admitting that the side might not be able to sign another player before deadline day.
Reports in Manchester Evening News suggests that United’s executive vice chairman, Ed Woodward will focus on discussing the futures of some players nearing the end of the current deal at the Old Trafford.
Ander Herrera will be offered a new deal to fend off interest from Barcelona who might return for his signature next summer if his future is not sorted before then.
The likes of Juan Mata, Daley Blind and Luke Shaw are likely to be tied to new deals without hassles due to the option of automatic renewals in their respective deals.
However, there are uncertainties in the futures of Michael Carrick and Ashley Young, both of whom have passed their prime and this season could be their last at Old Trafford.
Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira has been tipped to make a move away from United due to his lack of chances and his performances in the current season could be a decider of his fate with the club.
Meanwhile Marouane Fellaini might also look certain to leave the Red Devils next summer, as he is yet to open talks over his future with the club amid speculation over his future.
