Sergej Milinkovic

Manchester United are thought to be closely monitoring Lazio wonderkid Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

According to reports during the recently closed summer transfer window, the Serbian was the subject of a £24m offer from Manchester United’s main rivals Liverpool, with the bid turned down by Lazio.

According to TalkSport, the midfielder’s agent Mateja Kezman has said a ‘Manchester club’ are among suitors tracking the impressive wonderkid.

As per reports in FourFourTwo magazine, Milinkovic-Savic will likely command a transfer fee of about €70m should Serie A side Lazio decide to cash in.

Former Paris Saint Germain and AC Milan manager Leonardo claimed, “If I (Leonardo) was a sporting director of any of top European side now, the first player I (Leonardo) would sign is Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.”

Former Lazio striker Bernardo Corradi is also impressed with the youngster, stating, “He (Milinkovic-Savic) has so much room to grow (improve) as a player and is already performing pretty well on the pitch.

He (Milinkovic-Savic) brings a lot to this side, and many top clubs will be after him in no distant future. (SS) Lazio must keep him.”

Mourinho’s men have started the league season pretty well, with Sunday’s 4-0 thrashing of Everton impressing soccer lovers. Midfielder Paul Pogba is still out injured but should resume training with his team-mates ahead of schedule.
