Manchester United are on the verge of completing a summer deal for Real Betis youngster Roberto Gonzalez, according to reports.
The hot sensation is expected to join up with United’s reserve team this summer after agreeing on a deal with the English giants. Manchester United is understood to have paid compensation to Betis as a fee for the 16-year-old.
Gonzalez is regarded as one of the best youngsters in Spain and was called up the country’s under-16 last summer, churning out impressive performances to stake a claim in the headlines but has not made a senior appearance.
Reports in the Sun claim that United signed the youngster for the future after seeing him perform on several occasions. It is believed that Gonzalez will be a rising star at United but will initially be deployed to the reserves where he is expected to progress before getting a first team call-up.
There are suggestions that the youngster has already visited the Red Devils’ training facility in Carrington and is thrilled at the prospects of playing under the coaches.
The Spaniard is known for his ability to play as a striker or supporting nine and also can play on both foot; he is expected to become another player in the mould of Marcos Rashford who has grown to become a prominent figure at United.
