Manchester United have moved ahead of Chelsea in pursuit of Falkirk left-back Tony Gallacher, according to reports.
The 17-year-old has been closely monitored by a host of European clubs with the likes of Barcelona, Everton, Stoke City and Chelsea set to swoop for the promising talent.
Reports in the Daily Mail claim that Barca were leading the race to snatch Gallacher from the noses of the English clubs but it now appears Manchester United have now moved ahead other suitors to bounce on his signature after Falkirk rejected the chance to let the young defender go on a trial with the Red Devils.
It is understood that Falkirk has slapped a £750,000 fee on the youngster as the Scottish side brace themselves for numerous bids from interested clubs.
Chelsea have also sent scouts to watch Gallacher but has not made attempt to bring him to the Stamford Bridge.
Stoke City were believed to have had £100,000 offer rejected for the defender. Gallacher has featured for senior team of Falkirk seven times already this season.
However, it is very unlikely that the 17-year-old will make the team at the Stamford Bridge and might be drafted into the ‘famous’ Chelsea reserves with the reputation of shipping young talents on loan and currently have over 30 players out on loan.
