Manchester United Is Interested In Signing €60m Highly Rated Teenager

Benfica forward Goncalo Guedes is attracting interest from a lot of clubs including Manchester United. Portuguese newspaper A Bola reports that Manchester United was one of several clubs who watched Benfica take on Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League last night. Apart from United the paper also reports Valencia were also at the venue of the match to watch the young talented player.

For a long time, the 19 year old has been linked to Manchester United but there has never been word on a contact or offer being made. It looks like United are just keeping their options open and are monitoring the striker as his considered as player that has a lot of prospect.

Guedes was asked what he felt about the interest of Valencia on Monday during the pre-match conference and he had this to say “I really don’t think about leaving in January. I’m focused on Benfica, it’s the club of my heart, where I really like to play and want to continue.”

Considering that players change their mind, this is not likely to deter United. The player has a sixty million pounds release clause and it is most likely Benfica will try their best to get most if not all of the amount before they let him go.

What makes the deal possible is that Morinho’s is quite versed in the Portuguese market and knows Jorge Mendes who represents Guedes.
