According to reports, Anderlecht will permit Manchester United transfer target Leander Dendoncker to leave over the summer.
The 22-year-old had a brilliant 2016-17 season where he played 56 matches in all competitions, including 40 in the Belgian League including post-season playoffs and 15 matches in European competitions where the Belgian side won the domestic title and reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League where they were eliminated.
Leander Dendoncker scored the late minute equalizer in the first leg of the quarter-final clash with United at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium.
The Belgium international star was linked to Mourinho’s side over the recently slammed summer window before United completed the signing of Serbian Nemanja Matic from Chelsea.
Now that the League season is now in full swing, Anderlecht boss Herman van Holsbeeck has disclosed that the Belgian club would be glad to work with the Belgian next summer window to help him seal a transfer should he decide to go.
This comment opens the door to United manager Jose Mourinho to make an approach.
With experienced midfielder Michael Carrick turning 37 next summer, the former-England star is likely to be in his final year at Old Trafford. With Leander Dendoncker being 14 years younger, he could be a perfect replacement option for the Red Devils.
