Premier League giant Manchester City are set to take their summer spending beyond the £300million mark to sign Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and West Brom’s Jonny Evans.
The Etihad club are keen on testing Arsenal’s resolve over Chilean Alexis Sanchez with a £70million bid to reunite the former Barcelona man with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.
The Chilean is set to return from his abdominal problem, and Manchester City believes they can persuade the Gunners to sell the contract rebel, who has less than a year left on his Arsenal contract, despite Wenger’s stance he is not for sale.
City has already spent £210million this summer transfer window and has reserved the cash for the Chilean if Arsenal gives them the green light to negotiate a deal.
The Skye Blues are also keen on Jonny Evans to reinforce their centre-back options, and West Brom Albion manager Tony Pulis would be ready to cash in on his captain for £25million.
West Brom have turned down Manchester City’s recent bid of £18million, and Tony Pulis has consistently said he is ready to part with Jonny Evans for the right fee.
Manchester City hope to continue their summer clear-out before the transfer window slams shut and Frenchman Samir Nasri is in Turkey completing a proposed £8million transfer to Antalyaspor.
