Manchester United are considering a move for Porto defender Ricardo Pereira, according to reports in the Sun.
The 23-year-old has attracted interest from several clubs in Europe with his impressive displays in the Portuguese league, and could leave the for Premier League this summer, with reports that the host of English clubs have indicated interest in signing the defender.
However, United will have to beat the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Anderlecht and Real Vallodolid to his signature, with reports that several clubs have sent scouts to watch Pereira on Sunday.
It is understood that Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint Germain and Bayern Munich have also shown their interest in signing the player who has shone during his two-year loan spell in the French Ligue 1 with Nice.
Pereira is highly rated due to his versatility to play at several positions ranging from right-back, right-wing back and left-back position.
Porto are understood to be holding out for a fee around £20 million, with reports that Spurs have even made a bid for the defender but the fee is believed to be in the region of £13.6 million.
Manchester United are reported to be keen on landing Pereira this summer, as Jose Mourinho hopes to sign versatile defenders that would help his side’s fluidity.
