Man United Legend Predicts Where Chelsea And Man United Will Finish This Season
Manchester United former player Paul Scholes voiced his opinion about Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal’s top-four hopes in the Premier League this term.
He believes that current league leaders Chelsea will be crowned champions and that his former club Manchester United will finish third in the Premier League this season.
The Stamford Bridge club are the leading candidates to win the Premier League title this term after their brilliant form under new Italian manager Antonio Conte.
After being able to build an eight-point lead at the top of the league table, Chelsea are now regarded as the heavy favourites to win the top-flight title come May.
Manchester United on their part still have lots of works to do if they are really serious about finishing in the top four this season. They are currently in the sixth position in the table.
The former United man is also expecting to see Manchester City finish in the top four and he says that the last Champions League qualification spot will come down to a straight shootout between rivals Liverpool and Arsenal.
Scholes speaking to The Daily Mail said: “Chelsea, City, United and then it is between Arsenal and Liverpool.”
Manchester United finished fifth and won the FA Cup last term while Chelsea on their part finished 10th and without a trophy.
Manager: This Man United Star Is Just Like Eric Cantona
Saint-Etienne boss Christophe Galtier compares Swede legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Manchester United legend Eric Cantona as his side prepare to attack the red devils in their Europa League showdown.
Ibrahimovic has earned plenty of praise for his brilliant performances for Man United since arriving at Old Trafford from PSG on a free transfer last year’s summer.
The hugeman has dismissed any suggestions that he could struggle to adapt to the rigours of the EPL by scoring more than 20 goals in all competitions so far this season.
The 35-year-old superstar will be expecting to feature when his side take on the Ligue 1 side in the first leg of their Europa League last-32 clash on Thursday night.
And Saint-Etienne coach Galtier has admitted that he is a firm admirer of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“He has a big, big, big, big, massive personality. But every time I met him there was mutual respect. We played a lot against PSG and in the beginning we won but after Ibra arrived – it was blah, blah, blah… goal, goal, goal.
“I love those kind of players. They are strong. Very strong. When I look at Ibra I think of Eric Cantona. Big personality. He can get mad in one second, say big things, and then, ‘OK, I said it.’
“But, above all, an incredible player. And he scores. Goals, goals, goals. Lots of people said he would find it difficult in England but, already, 20 goals. He is a great professional. He sets an example. I think that’s why they brought him to Manchester. Like Cantona.” Galtier told The Telegraph
Jose Mourinho’s side head into the European looking to build on their 2-0 victory over Watford in the Premier League last Saturday afternoon.
